Most of my research has been on global scale patterns in plant traits, and interactions between plants and animals. My biggest project included measuring herbivory and plant defences in 75 ecosystems around the world. Based on my results, I argue that the idea that interactions between plants and animals are more intense in the tropics is a zombie idea.
